Employment verification
Employment verification confirms a candidate's work history — employer, job title, and dates — so you hire based on facts, not resumes. Pricing depends on how far back you want to verify.
Pricing by lookback period
| Lookback | Price per check |
|---|---|
| Current employer | $12.50 |
| Last 3 years | $15 |
| Last 5 years | $25 |
| Last 7 years | $35 |
| Last 10 years | $50 |
Third-party database access fees may apply, passed through at cost with no markup.
How to order
- Toggle Employment verification in the add-on grid when building your order
- In the order flow, employment is verified from the candidate's current payroll account and billed at the base employment price
- Need a longer lookback than the current job? The published tiers above are available — contact support to configure the lookback your role requires
What the candidate provides
- Their employment history in the application — employers, titles, and dates
- For payroll-based verification, they connect their payroll account securely through the portal
What results show
- Confirmed employer, job title, and employment dates for each verified entry
- The verification source — payroll data or direct employer contact
- Discrepancies between what the candidate claimed and what was verified
Turnaround and common delays
- Payroll-based verification can return the same day
- Manual employer outreach typically takes 1–3 business days
- Unresponsive employers are the most common delay — candidates can speed this up by providing accurate HR contacts
FAQs
What if the candidate is self-employed?▼
Payroll verification doesn't cover self-employment. Add bank data validation instead — it verifies self-employment income from the candidate's bank data.
Does the candidate's current employer get contacted?▼
Where payroll data is available, verification happens without contacting the employer. When manual outreach is needed, the employer is contacted directly.
