Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and protect personal information across the Ethur Platform and Services.
Last updated: May 02, 2026 · Effective: May 02, 2026
Thank you for visiting our website. At Ethur Technologies Inc. (“Ethur,” “us,” “we,” or “our”), we respect your privacy and are committed to being transparent about how we collect, use, and protect your information. This Privacy Policy explains our practices in detail.
1. When this Policy Applies
1.1 Scope of This Policy
This Policy applies to https://ethur.ai (the “Site”) and all related services, including any application programming interfaces (APIs) we offer (collectively, the “Services”), regardless of how you access them.
1.2 Who This Policy Covers
This Policy covers different types of individuals who interact with us:
- Candidates — individuals undergoing background checks through our Services.
- Customers — businesses or organizations that use our Services.
- Site Visitors — anyone browsing our Site.
- Workers — our employees, contractors, directors, and officers.
- Guests — visitors to our physical offices.
Separate internal policies apply to our own Workers and Guests.
1.3 What This Policy Does Not Cover
This Policy does not apply to third-party websites we may link to. We encourage you to review their privacy policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those external sites or services.
1.4 Ethur Connect Browser Extension
When you install and use the Ethur Connect browser extension (the “Extension”), the following additional practices apply:
- Data Extraction (Scraping): The Extension is designed to assist Customers by identifying candidate information (such as name, email, and phone number) directly from supported third-party Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and professional networking sites. This data is only extracted when a User manually initiates a “Scan” or interaction via the Extension interface.
- Purpose of Collection: Data collected via the Extension is used solely to pre-populate background check orders within the Ethur platform, reducing manual entry errors for our Customers.
- Limited Use: Ethur does not “sell” or “share” data extracted by the Extension for advertising or marketing purposes. We do not use this data for any purpose other than providing the requested screening services to the Customer.
- Security of Transmission: All candidate data extracted by the Extension is encrypted in transit via HTTPS before being processed by our secure backend. We do not store PII locally within the browser's permanent storage.
- User Control: You may disable or remove the Extension at any time through your browser settings. The Extension only accesses data on specific, authorized domains necessary to perform its functions.

We receive data from Customers, public records, government agencies, departments of motor vehicles, and other data providers to deliver our Services.
2.4 Inferred or Derived Information

- With Customers as needed to deliver the requested Services (e.g., sharing Candidate information as part of a completed report).
- With service providers and vendors who assist us in operating our business.
- With affiliates within our corporate group.
- For legal compliance, court orders, or to protect rights and safety.
- In the context of a business transaction (e.g., merger or acquisition).
- With your consent or as otherwise permitted by law.
5. Data Retention
We keep personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law or contractual obligations. When the need ends, we securely delete, de-identify, aggregate, or anonymize the information.
6. Your Rights
Your rights depend on where you live. Residents of certain U.S. states may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of their information, opt out of certain processing activities, and appeal decisions. We do not discriminate against individuals who exercise these rights.
For more details on selling/sharing and how to opt out, please see Section 7 (California Residents) and the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link in our Site footer.
7. Notice to California Residents
This section provides additional information for California residents as required by the CCPA/CPRA.
7.1 Categories of Personal Information Collected
We collect the categories listed in Section 2 above, including identifiers, California Customer Records Act information, internet activity, professional/employment data, education information, inferences, and sensitive personal information.
7.2 Business Purposes for Collection and Use
See Section 3 above.
7.3 Disclosures to Service Providers
We disclose the categories of information listed in Section 7.1 to service providers and contractors for operational and business purposes.
7.4 Selling and Sharing
We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration. However, certain disclosures for advertising and marketing purposes may be considered “sharing” under California law. You can opt out at any time using the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link or Global Privacy Control signals.
7.5 Sensitive Personal Information
We use sensitive personal information only for the limited purposes allowed under the CCPA and do not use it for additional purposes that would require offering a “limit the use” right.
8. Web Analytics
We use tools such as Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with our Site, including which pages are most popular and how users navigate our content. You can learn more about Google's practices in their Privacy & Terms.
9. How Ethur Protects Your Personal Information
Ethur uses a combination of physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to help protect the security and confidentiality of the personal information we hold. These include measures such as encryption, multi-factor authentication, access controls, and ongoing security monitoring.
However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we work hard to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
10. International Considerations
10.1 Transfers Outside Your Home Country
As a global provider of screening services, Ethur may process or transfer personal information to countries outside your home country to deliver our Services.
If you are located in the UK, EU, EEA, or Switzerland, please refer to our GDPR Privacy Policy for more details on international transfers. You can also review our Data Privacy Framework Notice to understand our commitments under that framework.
If you are in Canada, our Canadian Privacy Policy provides additional information on how we handle your personal information.
10.2 Disclosures to the United States or Other Countries
When acting as an investigative consumer reporting agency under applicable laws (such as the California Investigative Consumer Reporting Agencies Act), we may transfer personal information collected from Candidates outside the United States in the following situations:
- To third parties needed to collect or verify information in order to fulfill a Customer's requested Service;
- To service providers assisting us in delivering Services from locations outside the United States; and
- To our affiliates and service providers supporting the overall delivery of our Services.
11. Children
We do not direct our Services to children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children in that age group where prohibited by law (including the CCPA). If you are under 16, please do not provide any personal information to us.
12. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control Signals
12.1 Do Not Track (DNT) Signals
Some browsers allow users to send a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. Because there is no industry-wide standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals, our Site does not currently respond to them.
12.2 Global Privacy Control (GPC) Signals
Where required by applicable state law, Ethur honors Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals sent by supported browsers as valid opt-out requests for the sale or sharing of personal information and for targeted advertising.
You can learn more about GPC and how to enable it by visiting the Global Privacy Control website. You will need to activate the signal in each browser or extension you use.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
Ethur may update this Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will post the revised version on this page and update the “Last Updated” date at the top. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.
If we make material changes that significantly affect your rights or how we use your personal information, we will provide prominent notice (for example, via a notice on the Site or by email) before the changes take effect.
