Alias search
People are recorded under more than one name — maiden names, nicknames, previous legal names. An alias search runs the criminal searches under each known alternate name so records don't slip through, starting from $8 per candidate.
Why aliases matter
Criminal records are filed under the name used at the time. If a candidate changed their name, a search of only their current name can miss records filed under the previous one.
How to order
- Alias search appears as an add-on card in the order flow — toggle it on like any other add-on
- When you order, you can search all discovered aliases or limit the number to control cost
- If the alias card isn't selectable on your account, the feature may not be enabled for you yet — contact support and we'll confirm
How it works
- Alternate names come from the candidate's application and the SSN trace's address and name history
- Each alias is searched through the same criminal searches in your package
- Results are labeled by the name that produced them
Pricing
- Starting from $8 per candidate
- Limiting the number of aliases searched limits the per-candidate cost
FAQs
Does an alias search add extra turnaround time?▼
Each alias runs through the same searches as the primary name, so a candidate with several aliases can take longer — especially where county courts are involved.
What if the candidate didn't disclose a previous name?▼
The SSN trace surfaces names associated with the candidate's identity history, which is how undisclosed aliases are found.
